A fun class for the little chefs to learn some easy baking recipes and lots of interesting stories about food history and countries culture. We get inspiration for our recipes from International cuisine. In each session, we will explore a different country and we will tell a story about that country and learn many things about that country. 

*How is the class structured?*

The inspiration for these afternoon teas baking class comes from different countries. The first country to be explored will be Italy, you will prepare a delicious strawberry TIRAMISÚ.  You will make the tiramisú using the following ingredients: mascarpone, eggs, a bit of sugar, strawberries, Savoiardi (a type of Italian biscuits), fresh mint. If you are vegetarian, vegan and have allergies please do get in contact at least 24 hours in advance as any request will be accommodated. There will be the use of nuts, gluten and other allergens in our kitchen.

After preparing the tea and our recipes we will read a story, will learn something about the recipe, origins of the ingredients,  learn something about Italy and sing a song related to what we have done. 

Our classes last for approximately 1 hour. Aprons, cooking equipment and fresh ingredients are included.

Children will taste what they make and bring some home.

*What do kids learn?*
Cooking and baking classes are great fun for the little ones and they help them in developing many skills. On the personal and social side, kids learn how to work with others and share things, they improve their confidence and independence and they develop a sense of curiosity. On the physical development side, kids develop control and movement and fine motor skills by using small cooking tools. Cooking and baking classes are also a great way to introduce kids to healthy and tasty food. 
Mathematics (shapes, counting, measuring, sorting, comparing by size and weight), communication and language (speak and listen in a range of situations, following instructions, gaining vocabulary), understanding of the world (understanding where food comes from, understanding how food grows, seasons, international cuisines, celebrations and festivals) are other skills that they acquire through cooking.

This is a great experience for those who want to learn the art of making pasta.  The classes are run by Vicky, an Italian cookery tutor who wants to spread her passion for good and healthy food in London. 
The classes are very popular events to socialise, have fun and learn how to make pasta.

In this beginners' class, you'll learn how to make different types of pasta from flour and eggs (water or aqua faba for vegans and people with egg-allergy). The class is also BYOB. No prior experience is required. Anybody with enthusiasm to learn a new skill is welcome! 

**How is the class structured?**

When you arrive, you will find the ingredients laid out ready to be used. The class will kick off with Vicky sharing some fun facts about the history of pasta. Then, Vicky will explain to you where ingredients come from, what kind of ingredients are used, where to buy the best ingredients in the future and why to use those specific ingredients.

The workshop is very hands-on. After a demonstration of how to make the dough, you will make everything yourself.  Vicky will guide you through the process step-by-step, including mixing and kneading, before working on making the different shapes! You’ll get lots of tips  & tricks for your skills in the kitchen. You'll also feel the relaxing effects of cooking - it is amazing!

After all the hard work, you can either take all the pasta home with you or we can eat it all together.

Looking for alternate activities for my nephew and niece of 6 and 8 years old, I took them to Vicky's pasta making class. It turned out to be a great experience. The kids are taught how to mix and knead the dough, and eventually turn them into pasta. Their eyes simply lit up when Vicky demonstrated the magic of rolling the pasta dough into the machine, and out came the perfectly shaped spaghetti and tagliolini! There is certainly a high level of enthusiasm and enjoyment in the room. Towards the end of the class all the kids sit down together to enjoy their hand made pasta. It is a great way to entertain the kids and teach them about food (I noticed Vicky uses high quality and organic ingredients too). The kids are asking to return for another class already!

Kids Pasta Making Workshop

My two daughters (9 and 6) had a fantastic time at the Kids Pasta Making Workshop. Vicky was great with the kids, showing them all how to make their very own pasta dough and how to use the pasta machines. The girls learned how to make several different types of pasta (from spaghetti to tagliatelle and even farfalle) and they loved the different (natural) colours! And we all got to try the pasta with a delicious home-made sauce at the end! I thought it was good value for the two kids too. Highly recommended! Thanks!

We learned how to make spaghetti; bow shaped pasta; gnocchi; and linguine (I think right terminology!) It was a really enjoyable couple of hours, and at the end of session, we sat round a table with the other group on the course and ate our creations with the most delicious sauce. During this class, I learned how to make a simple pasta dough from the ingredients, methods, and certain tips and tricks necessary in different situations. I also learned how to knead the dough and use a pasta machine to roll them out out to the perfect thickness. Then I made a simple meat filling for tortellini. The hardest part was sealing them but by the end, I felt confident in finishing them because my teacher's guidance. I also made a simple yet delicious sauce to go with the cooked tortellini. Annachiara was my teacher and she was awesome. Her home is so welcoming and very easy to find as it was super close to a station. She offered wine that we partook in during the course and it was delicious. She shared many stories about her family in Italy and her own experiences. She was very welcoming and comforting. She answered all my questions and was super friendly during the times I felt I was doing something wrong. We enjoyed our efforts together over an early dinner. She even made a delicious cake. She packed the leftovers for me and I shared it with my husband who also approved! She gave me the confidence needed to make my own pasta at home. Cooking workshops are the perfect way of entertaining events. Cooking is also a great way to introduce kids to healthy and tasty food.

*How is the class structured?*

On arrival, kids will find the ingredients laid out and ready to be used. The class will kick off with some fun fact about the "Italians". Then, it will be explained what ingredients are used, where ingredients come from, where to get the best ingredients from and why to use those specific ingredients.
The workshop is entirely hands-on. After a demonstration of how to make the dough, every kid will make his/her meal from scratch. The kids can choose from a variety of recipes: pasta, pizza, focaccia, panzerotti and desserts. 
If they choose pasta, the kids can choose from different shapes: tortellini, scialatielli, spaghetti, colourful pasta, tagliatelle (cut pasta) and ravioli (filled pasta). The ravioli is a particular funny shape to be made by kids because we cut them with heart-shaped, flower-shaped and stars-shaped pasta-cutters.
After all the hard work, every kid gets to take home what they made.

We loved our pasta party. My daughter was turning ten and invited five friends over to our house. Vittoria and her cousin were friendly and sweet and clearly love what they do. The children made pasta right from scratch, kneaded it, rolled it and cooked it for lunch. They had a brilliant time. Vittoria talked to them about how pasta originated and developed. *How is the class structured?*

We will start the class with some deep breathing techniques that will help you be more centred in life. Then I'll introduce myself and tell you some helpful tips for feeling more healthy in the kitchen. During this class, we will make homemade chickpeas gnocchi with a tomato sauce. The recipe is vegan and extremely healthy.  You will find all the ingredients laid down and after a demonstration of what to do, you will make the gnocchi. The workshop is very hands-on. Whilst we prepare the food, Sara Newman, a qualified yoga teacher and meditation expert, will guide us through the cooking class with some meditative techniques, by noting every movement, smells, changes in the environment temperature. 

After cooking the recipe, we will sit, relax and Sara will guide us through some mindful eating. Mindful eating involves paying full attention to the whole experience of eating and drinking, both inside and outside the body. You pay attention to the colours, smells, textures, flavours, shapes, temperatures, and even the sounds of our food. We pay attention to the experience of the body and of the mind. We watch when the mind gets distracted, pulling away from full attention to what we are eating or drinking, we watch the impulses that arise after tasting food. We notice the impulse and return to just eating. We notice how eating affects our mood and how our emotions like anxiety influence our eating.

Mindful Cooking

Feed your mind and body with a mindful cooking class

People are going to love to learn how to make the coolest food on Instagram! This is a unique experience to learn how to make rainbow bagels from scratch. 

These beautiful rainbow bagels are bagels made with flour, water, yeast and malt extract. This is then coloured with healthy natural ingredients, like beetroot and spirulina. When ready, they are boiled and baked ready to eat it together or take home!

People can make about 5 bagels per head and either eat it or take it home.

On arrival, you will find the ingredients laid out and ready to be used. The class will kick off with some fun fact about bagels.

The workshop is entirely hands-on. After a demonstration of how to make the dough, everyone will make his/her own piece of coloured dough. Then we will assemble all the colours together and make the shape. Bagel making is fun and healthy, made with high-quality products and the best seasonal produce from farmers in England.

You will make around 5 bagels and after all the hard work, everyone gets to eat some or take the bagels home.

Who knew pasta could be so good? Come and have fun with us. We will teach your kids to make simple and delicious homemade pasta shapes from scratch. a special regional pasta Southern Italian shape, a healthy pasta recipe while having fun. 

That's not all. Do some good too whilst you make pasta. Create and share positive energy for yourself and the world. All the proceeds of this event will go in support of Smile and Make Pasta - a social project founded by Alessandra Lauria. The idea of this event is to have kids supporting other kids in need!


**How is the class structured?
**

The kids will be greeted with healthy and light snacks, whilst the mums can order tea from the cafe upstairs. 
We will make everything from scratch only with organic, seasonal, healthy ingredients. 

At the end of the class, the children take home recipes, a goodie bag and a bag full of their masterpieces.

**What do the kids do during the class?
**
I show the kids to make a simple and healthy pasta dough with only 2 ingredients. Once we have done that, we make the pasta shape: maccherroni Calabresi. The kids will have the recipe at home with some instructions on how to cook and serve it. 

The class will last approximately 30 minutes and it will be a lot of fun for the kids.

Smile & Make Pasta - pasta-making workshops created for kids in a paediatric oncologic ward.

This is a great experience for those who want to learn the art of making pasta in their home. The classes are run by Vicky, an experienced Italian cookery tutor who has run Pasta n' Play since 2015. The classes are also very popular to celebrate events like birthdays and family gatherings. 

You can choose which types of pasta you want to make and we cater for everyone: gluten-intolerant, vegans and people with allergies.

How is the class structured?

I send you the list of ingredients and equipments. The class will kick off with Vicky sharing some fun facts about the history of pasta. Then, Vicky will explain to you where ingredients come from, what kind of ingredients are used, where to buy the best ingredients in the future and why to use those specific ingredients.

The workshop is very hands-on. After a demonstration of how to make the dough, you will make everything yourself. Vicky will guide you through the process step-by-step, including mixing and kneading, before working on making the different shapes! You’ll get lots of tips & tricks for your skills in the kitchen.
